Dear partners,
Thanks to the collaboration of all our stakeholders, the launch of the expanded and modernized deposit-refund system went very well indeed! The feedback we've received has been positive, including a 50% reduction in the rate of beverage container rejection by automated reclaimers, and the message has been well understood by citizens, who report very few unused containers. We are continuing our efforts to ensure that the trend continues! So a big thank you to everyone. This is an important environmental milestone for Quebec, since this project will ultimately lead to a significant increase in recovered and reclaimed materials, and less waste.

Remember that the 1-877-CANETTE hotline is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Visit consignaction.ca! There you will find an interactive map that allows everyone to locate return sites. This map is updated regularly.
Partnership with TOMRA Canada
We have entered into a partnership with TOMRA Canada, a trusted equipment manufacturer that has been operating in Quebec for 40 years, to acquire equipment for recovering returnable beverage containers. This equipment will meet a significant portion of the needs anticipated at some 1,500 return sites . The innovative, high-performance, and reliable solutions offered will help establish a return sites network of return sites and enhance the customer experience for returning returnable beverage containers.
Informative presentations for stakeholders
Stakeholder information sessions continue:
- An additional information session for producers, in French, is scheduled for November 30 at 11 a.m.
- An information session for municipalities has been added for December 7 at 11 a.m.
Notice to producers: first monthly declaration in December
The first monthly declaration for November sales must be made byQBCRA members between December 10 and 15, 2023.
