Plastic drink bottles now returnable!

 

 

Citizens can now return all plastic ready-to-drink beverage containers, from 100 ml to 2 L. This includes plastic water, sparkling water, juice, milk and spirits bottles, in addition to plastic bottles. soft drink which were already consigned. All these containers bear a deposit-refund of 10 cents.

This measure is part of phase 2 of the modernization of the deposit-refund . Thus, 1.5 billion plastic beverage containers are subject to the deposit-refund Quebec aims to deposit five billion containers annually, with a recovery rate target of 90% by 2032.

Citizens have access to a hybrid network of over 3,500 return sites across Quebec: Zone Consignaction return points at participating retailers, and Consignaction and Consignaction+, exclusively reserved for the recovery of returnable beverage containers.
